The TRACOuk Experience!
Posted by Charline Berthe on 8th Aug 2022
Hi! My name is Charline, I’m 18 and in order to gain experience and practice my english I did an internship for a week in TRACOuk. As soon as I arrived at this company, which is a market leader in sustainability, I discovered a team really committed in matters of environment.
Firstly, Deborah the sales manager for Tracouk, introduced me to how she manages sales, charity and so many other things at the same time. She also let me accompanyherself and Jason the MD to Solent University where I was able to watch a customer-supplier acquaintance and how they prepare clearing a location.
For my future career, I am particularly interested in the sector of marketing. This is why I spent a lot of my time with Abi who is the lead for digital marketing. She introduced me to the use of social media, website, newsletter and all the importance of communication in a company. We wrote an article for the blog and she let me discover marketing’s software by asking me to file a product. In addition Abi kindly corrected my English mistakes and gave me some advice to progress with infallible patience.
I’m still amazed about how many different things Christine is able to do. With her I discovered the company policies, how to check the accounts and she even showed me the footprint of the company which was really striking.
Finally, Andrew shared with me all the complexity and diversity of his work, and how he manages, with Jason, the whole team. Organization, leadership abilities and energy seem the critical elements to achieve this on a daily basis.
If there is one thing one can all be sure about it is that at TRACOuk, each collaborator has a lot of responsibilities and has to reconcile different competences.
To sum up, spending a week in TRACOuk has been an extremely rich experience to me. On the professional aspect, by discovering the functioning of a company from the inside but also on a personal level as well. Discovering companies like this one: socially and environmentally responsible, should allow us to see the future with more optimism and gives us examples of what we, my generation, will have to do in the next few years to protect the environment.
I would like again to thank all the members of the team and especially Andrew and Jason, for having let me come inside of their company and Deborah, Abi and Christine for having taken the time to let me discover their universe.
